FUTILE WAR ON DRUGS
Regarding the opposition to Insite, the safe injection site, I agree
as a disabled woman that more tax dollars should go to patients with
diseases they can't control. I am in my own "fight" to get the
treatment I need. But addiction is a disease. Harm reduction programs
like Insite are part of a bigger strategy . The government has applied
73% of funding towards its "anti-drug strategy", 14% on treatment, and
2.6% on harm reduction. This obviously isn't working. Take more money
out of the futile war on drugs and put it towards treatment and harm
reduction.

(Lots of docs agree.)
