Guests toast Chinese bride and groom with heroin

HONG KONG, June 15 (Reuter) Guests toasted the health of the bride and
groom at a wedding in China with heroin instead of champagne, a Hong Kong
newspaper said on Sunday.

The newlyweds were addicts and treated guests at their wedding in the
western city of Chongqing with the drug bought with a wedding gift of cash
from their parents, the Chineselanguage Ming Pao newspaper said.

The paper said the celebration came to an abrupt halt when police burst in
and arrested the couple.

They were both sent to drug rehabilitation centres, the newspaper said.
