[The following letter is in response to the March, 1997, issue which
featured forests and paper.]

Half the article was devoted to the challenges that timberbased paper
production presents to the world's forests and waterways. The story touched
on possible solutions, but it failed to mention the welldocumented
ecological advantages offered by largescale use of hemp in paper production.
