DRUG-TEST RULING BAFFLES

Re: "Court overturns drug-test firing: Pre-employment screening for
oilsands job discriminatory, judge rules," The Journal, June 29.

Let's chalk up another asinine decision by the court when it ruled
that a man undergoing pre-employment drug testing should have been
treated as disabled by the company looking to hire him.

It is little wonder that employers mainly hire part-time workers or
that we are losing our business to overseas markets when companies
are straddled with the cost of treating workers before they are hired.
