Woody Harrelson ready to post bail in mansion pot case
Hemp activist and actor Woody Harrelson has agreed to post the $500,000
bail for a man accused of growing thousands of marijuana plants in a
BelAir mansion, a spokesman said Wednesday.
Harrelson sent a representative to federal court in Los Angeles to post
bond for Todd McCormick, said Pete McWilliams, publisher of a book
McCormick was writing. The representative reportedly was told that
prosecutors must speak with Harrelson first.
McCormick, 27, said the 4,100plus marijuana plants in his rented mansion
were for medical use.
On another front, San Francisco Cannabis Buyers Club founder Dennis Peron
says he plans to run for California governor as a Republican, challenging
state Attorney General Dan Lungren. Peron was a driving force behind the
passage of Proposition 215, which legalizes pot for medical purposes.
