MANAGING DRUGS
As a police officer, I learned that it was the prohibition of drugs
which fuelled the violence, not the use of the drugs.
Letter writer Gerry Alwell attributes the problem partly to
recreational drug users. But he would do well to advise his
politicians to abandon the failed prohibition approach and call for
the government to regulate and manage these dangerous drugs.
Today, the managers of these drugs are criminals.
