RE "81-year-old busted with $600Gs in pot at border" (June 25): What's
the surprise? When you make an easy-to-grow weed almost as valuable as
pure gold with your marijuana prohibition policies, a wide variety of
people will take advantage of the very profitable business
opportunity.

The biggest loser in this lucrative business is the government,
because the business is illegal it's completely tax-free. Of course,
regulating, controlling and taxing the marijuana industry would send
the wrong message to children. But what message do we send to children
by regulating, controlling and taxing the alcohol and tobacco industry?
