BOSTON BAR DARE STUDENTS CELEBRATE THEIR GRADUATION
As another school year comes to an end so did this year's D.A.R.E
program for grades 5 and 6 students at Boston Bar School. Constable
Jeff Wilson once again instructed the nine week course to Ms.
Kneller's grade 5 and 6 class.
The graduation ceremony was held on June 20, 2006 at the Boston Bar
School gymnasium. Approximately 50 friends and family of the graduates
attended. At the ceremony the guests and graduates were treated to a
pot luck dinner with the traditional D.A.R.E Graduation cake. After
the dinner several students read their closing D.A.R.E essays to the
audience in attendance. The entire class then took turns one by one
making a pledge to stay drug and alcohol free. Cst. Wilson then spoke
to the graduation class. Cst. Wilson then followed with the
introduction of Staff Sargeant Dale Kjemhus, the RCMP member in charge
of the Hope / Boston Bar RCMP offices.
DARE graduation certificates, DARE t-shirts and other DARE gifts were
then given out to the students who came to the front of the crowd to
accept their graduation material in front of their friends and family.
Cst. Wilson then presented a floral arrangement to Ms. Kneller for all
her hard work and commitment to the D.A.R.E. program once again making
this years D.A.R.E program a success. A quick graduation photo taken
from the school's playground followed by a very action filled softball
game with the 2006 D.A.R.E graduates playing the RCMP/parent team. A
good time was had by all with the graduates squeaking out a come from
behind 1 run victory over the RCMP/parents squad. Well done DARE graduates!
