Boy, 11, charged in crack case

Some showandtell at a Baytown junior high school resulted in an
11yearold facing drug charges.

Baytown police say the boy showed classmates some crack cocaine he had
brought to school, and they told a teacher.

The boy was in custody Tuesday after the teacher at Cedar Bayou Junior
School called authorities.

Baytown police turned the boy charged with possession of crack cocaine
over to Harris County juvenile authorities.

According to police, the child, whose name was not released because he is a
juvenile, had shown the drug to classmates Monday.

When the boy was searched, crack cocaine was found inside his jacket.
