Woman Who Lost 2 Girls in Train Tragedy to Get Drug Tests

SAN BERNARDINOA day after burying her two young daughters, Jackie Robles
agreed Thursday to submit to random drug testing before a judge rules on
whether she can regain custody of her 2monthold son.

The request was made by an investigator for San Bernardino County's child
protective services department, who alleged in a court petition that Robles
had used methamphetamine just days before the toddlers were struck and
killed by a Metrolink train in Upland.

"We've denied the allegations," said Robin Johnson, Robles' attorney in the
custody case, "and she's going to cooperate in every way."

Johnson said Robles hopes to regain custody of her infant boy after the
next Juvenile Court hearing, scheduled Dec. 1.

Robles' two older children were struck by a commuter train Oct. 21 after
they wandered about a halfblock from their home and were playing on the
train tracks.
