Cannabis law is an ass

Sir: In asking, "How do you explain to your children that it is okay to
pick and choose those laws that you obey and those you don't?", Graham
Evans (Letters, 30 October) confuses legal imperatives with moral ones.

History is littered with unjust or misconceived laws. It is not just okay
to distinguish between those laws which are right and those which are
wrong, it is our responsibility. When as in the case of cannabis
prohibition the law is merely an ass, it should be treated as such.
