No charges against boy
A 12yearold northeast Houston boy was taken into custody briefly after
shooting into the air to frighten away narcotics officers he mistook for
burglars.
The officers were executing a search warrant at a house in the 9800 block
of Gillman about 10 p.m. Wednesday when a shot was fired from the house
next door.
Officers found the boy in that home alone. Thinking the officers outside
were intruders, he evidently fired a gun out of a window into the air to
frighten them away.
The boy was released to his parents when the Harris County District
Attorney's Office declined to accept charges against him.
Two adults were arrested in the target house after a small amount of
illegal drugs was found.
