FORT WORTH POLICE NAB 2 IN DRUG BUST

Fort Worth Police found 10 kilograms of cocaine when they stopped a
speeding van, which led them to an additional 46 kilograms of the drug at a
north Fort Worth home.

"Field tests revealed it is of high quality and has a street value of
approximately $7.4 million," according to a Fort Worth Police Department
news release.

The two men in the van, 47yearold Jose L. Fuentes of Del Rio and
20yearold Fernando Vargas of Fort Worth were arrested Tuesday night on
suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.

Fuentes remained in the Tarrant County Jail Thursday on $40,000 bail.
Vargas bonded out Wednesday night.

Lt. Gary Gray of the narcotics division said police are seeking charges
against the men of aggravated possession of a controlled substance with
intent to deliver.

The 56 kilograms, packed in bricks, is about 123 pounds, Gray said. He said
more arrests are possible as the investigation continues.
