ONE MONTH'S BORDER CROSSINGS BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENTS
Incidents in November where American or Mexican border agents or police
officers improperly crossed into the other country:
Nov. 8: Border Patrol agent Sean Gijanto ran across the street from
Douglas, Ariz., into Agua Prieta while chasing a man whom he believed had
entered the United States illegally. He was later fired.
Nov. 21: A police officer in Agua Prieta chased an armed robbery suspect
into the United States just south of a cemetery in Douglas.
Nov. 26: Two Mexican agents lost control of their vehicle just across the
border inside the United States chasing another armed robbery suspect.
Nov. 26: Eight Mexican federal judicial police officers chased several
suspects from Agua Prieta into a drainage ditch just inside Douglas. They
arrested suspects and retrieved several bundles of marijuana before Border
Patrol agents challenged them.
