A VICTORY FOR MARIJUANA USERS

Terry Parker won an epic, 20year battle to secure the right to grow the
pot he smokes as part of his treatment for epilepsy.

If marijuana fumes are judged beneficial to some medical conditions, could
the substance not be judged beneficial in other ways too?

It may be streching the point made by judge Sheppard, but the Guelpbased
Church of the Universe, which reputedly features marijuana as part of its
ritual, also just had its case strengthened.

As we say, it may be streching the point. Evidence presented at the Parker
trial showed only that the substance works to the good of epileptics like
Parker whose bodies do not respond to conventional treatments.

For most of the rest of us, the evidence shows only that regular, moderate
use of marijuana causes no physical or psychological harm.

Sounds rather like a chalice of good wine.
