DON'T LIGHT UP
Editor -- The issue between smokers and non-smokers over the new law
banning smoking in bars can be very simple if one looks at it objectively.
The real issue is about whether lighted cigarettes should be allowed inside
enclosed public spaces. So, in reality, we are talking about the rights of
cigarettes, not the rights of smokers. Smokers can go everywhere a non-
smoker can go, they only need to leave their lighted cigarettes behind.
Non-smokers have always been excluded from these places unless they agree
to inhale the smoke making them involuntary smokers. I would call the new
law fair.
