THE MARIJUANA TRAP
I am a person living with AIDS who has benefited from Marvin Chavez's
Cannabis Co-op ["Felony charges are filed against pot group leader," Metro,
Jan. 16].
I called Deputy District attorney Carl Armburst for clarification of his
quote in the Register. He said,"If they were complying with the law, we
wouldn't be taking such a hard stance."
Armburst's only responce to me was to try to discover my physician's name
and then he hung up on me. It is obvious that this man has no understanding
of the disease AIDS or the relief given to cancer patients by the marijuana
herb.
Do we want our district attorney's office pursuing care-givers and
legitimate doctors who are trying to make life better for the terminally
ill just because they are such easy prey? The fix is in. The California
Voters voted in Prop.215. It is time for Orange County voters to vote in a
new district attorney who has the courage to go after the true criminals,
not the care-givers of the terminally ill and infirmed.
