BOARDWATCH
At its weekly meeting yesterday, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors:
Approved:
- -- A decision by the Planning Commission to deny a conditional use permit
for the owner of a two- family house on Collingwood Street to operate as
the Villa Bed & Breakfast Inn.
Adopted:
- --A resolution by Supervisor Gavin Newsom urging the Department of Public
Health to apply for a federal waiver that would make it easier for private
doctors to prescribe methadone, a synthetic drug which blunts the craving
for heroin.
Introduced:
- --A measure to amend the rules and create a new recreation and park
committee that would be headed by Supervisor Amos Brown.
- --A call by Supervisor Tom Ammiano to hold a hearing on school buses
without seat belts.
Adjourned:
- -- In memory of former San Francisco Mayor Joseph Alioto and former Oakland
Mayor Lionel Wilson.
