We just posted a draft letter to the editor as starts below to this service.
This letter has not been published. Indeed, it was intended for our service
which helps folks improve their letters, a mailing list called MAPEDIT.

Anybody can post a draft requesting help directly to MAPEDIT simply by
sending the draft to mapedit@mapinc.org

If our small team of volunteer editors finds ways the letter may be
improved, the author will receive a response directly. Only those wishing to
help with editing need sign up for the MAPEDIT list (and we could use more
help!).

Oh, if no comments are received from a post to MAPEDIT
within about a day, probably nobody saw a need for substantial improvement,
so authors should just sent it.

Debbie, your letter has been reviewed by far more folks now than it would if
posted to MAPEDIT, but I will forward it there anyway. In my opinion (I make
no claims to being a real editor despite the title above) it is a good
letter.

TO THE EDITOR

"It's Time For a Proper Debate on Marijuana" is one of the more responsible
pieces of journalism I have seen in awhile, despite obvious inaccuracies
such as the notion that marijuana is legal in Holland - more marijuana has
been seized in Holland than almost any other European country, but it is
also the most relaxed towards personal use.
