FIVE CHARGED IN DRUG STING

Five men are charged with one count each of conspiracy and possession with
intent to traffic cocaine after undercover police officers sold, rather
than bought, five kilograms of the drug.

The six month-old sting culminated in a raid March 18 at an upscale eatery
in Montreal¼s Little Italy.

Eyewitnesses said six or seven SWAT team officers rushed into the
restaurant with guns drawn.

The restaurant, which seats about 120 people, was about two-thirds full
when police shouted for everyone to keep still.

Police pushed aside waiters and blocked the entrance for half an hour.

They arrested the men and seized $140,000 they were carrying.
