VISA U.S.A. TEAMS UP WITH KMART TO HELP KIDS WIN RACE AGAINST DRUGS

Long Term Marketing Agreement to Benefit Drug Education Programs

SAN FRANCISCO (PRN)- With an estimated 8 million children under the age of
18 using illegal drugs, Visa U.S.A. and Kmart today announced a partnership
to turn consumer purchases into much-needed dollars for anti-drug education
efforts. As a partner in Kmart's Kids Race Against Drugs program, Visa will
make a contribution related to the number of consumer card sales
transactions at U.S. Kmart, Big Kmart, and Super K stores from now through
March 1999 to help support anti-drug organizations at both the national and
the local levels.

The long term marketing agreement will benefit organizations like C.A.D.C.A.
(Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America), D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance
Education), and M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). Consumers will be
notified of the effort by signs at cash register locations. Visa has pledged
to donate at least $250,000 in connection with the card usage campaign.

"Visa is proud to partner with Kmart and its Kids Race Against Drugs," said
Tom Edwards, senior vice president of market development and acceptance at
Visa U.S.A. "This alliance allows Visa cardholders to play a crucial role
in the nationwide fight against drug abuse."

"Kmart is committed to the fight against drug abuse, because of its
devastating effects on our nation's youth," said William Ellis, divisional
vice president, Kmart Kids Race Against Drugs. "Sponsors like Visa make it
possible for us to rally our resources in the fight to keep our children
drug free.
