DRUG CRAZED SHOOTING?

It was very disturbing to hear of yet another incident of shootings at
school, the ninth in two years, according to the article ["Student shoots 20
at school, 1 dead," Front Page, May 22]. What was behind this terrible
tragedy? The boy, 15-year-old Kip Kinkel was on a psychiatric drug. In the
wake of this incident we are left with many questions: Why did he have
access to three guns? What kind of "therapy" was his counselor giving him?
Why was this kid on a mind-altering drug with the okay of his counselor?

Society needs to wake up and see who is behind this incident: the
psychiatrist who would put someone on such a drug and not be responsible for
the ramifications. It's time for this to end. Psychiatrists must take
responsibility for the medications they prescribe for children. I have yet
to see a success story come out of a psychiatrist's office.
