YOU SHOULD READ ON, MR BUFFRY
IN REPLY to Alun Buffry's letter, I would like to clarify some points.
God has indeed given us all plants that bear seed, including the opium poppy
and cannabis plants.
However, it is the wrongful purpose which man then uses them for which
causes the problems as these simple plants are turned to bad.
God has created the atom, which man has split and used as a weapon of
destruction. We can't blame God for the misuse of things.
As usual, scripture has been used to try to justify man's own desire to get
what he wants.
In the letter "not that which goes into man's mouth makes him unclean but
that which comes out", (Matthew 15-11) we must keep in context that Jesus
was talking about the traditions of the Pharisees, and hand-washing, but has
been used to justify whatever we like, drugs included. I would urge Alun
and others to read the rest of the Bible passage "From out of the heart
comes all kinds of evil."
The city of Norwich needs Jesus, not drugs.
