MEXICO HOLDS MAN ACCUSED OF WIRETAPPING FOR CARTEL

Mexico has arrested a spy for drug traffickers who tapped into telephone
calls of the country's top drug agents, a newspaper reported Friday.

Gustavo Nery Delgado was able to eavesdrop on telephone calls at the
Attorney General's office, probably with help of employees of Mexico's
telephone company, Telmex, Reforma said,citing sources at the office of the
special prosecutor for drug crimes.

Nery was then able to tip off the powerful Jaurez drug cartel about
potential raids, the newspaper said.

A spokesman for the anti-drug special prosecutor and the Attorney General's
Office said they could not comment on the report.
