JAIL TURNS UP HEAT ON COKE DEALER

OTTAWA - The man accused of abandoning a baby girl in a locked car on a
sweltering day in June pleaded guilty yesterday to trafficking in cocaine.
Nicola Camasso, 48, will serve 5 months in prison for selling drugs to an
undercover police officer from an apartment above a barber shop in February
and March this year.

" You were dealing with a very potent drug, which is cocaine," said Judge
Jean-Marie Bordeleau, in imposing sentence on the unemployed laborer.
"Clearly you were doing it for profit and probably to help your own habit."
Camasso was arrested June 22 after 18-month old Sabrina was rescued by a
security guard from a chokingly hot car parked outside a mall. At the time,
there was a warrant out for Camasso's arrest after he repeatedly had failed
to appear in court to face the drug-trafficking charges. Sabrina's
motherSuzanne Villeneuve, 36, has also been charged with abandoning the
girl. Camasso, the mom's boyfriend, is not Sabrina's father.
