Our federal government has just launched a $195 million media ad
campaign against drugs. President Clinton says it will kick butt and
prevent future drug users.
Recently listening to KLIF out of Dallas I heard three of the
station's top radio personalities, whose views range from liberal to
conservative, say the program is a $195 million waste.
Is this another case of our government saying, "Don't worry, we will
fix your problem by spending more of your money on it"?
But much worse than the waste of $195 million is the fact that our
government obviously has no idea what to do about the drug/chemical
addiction/abuse problem. Tragically we have a shortage of problem
solvers in our government and an abundance of men who mainly know how
to get elected.
