PETER ROTH DEFENDS FOX SHOWS

PASADENA, Calif. (Variety) - Fox Entertainment Group president Peter\ Roth
defended his network on issues of race, drugs and crude content at the
Television Critics Assn. press tour Tuesday. The loudest criticism lobbed
at Fox involved a scene in "That '70s Show" featuring a group of teens
smoking marijuana. "We are in no way endorsing or glamorizing drugs," Roth
told the critics. However, "this is about a time past in which we all
committed, or some of us committed (drug use). To suggest it didn't exist
at all is fallacious."
