ILLEGAL GRASS FOUND GROWING ON COURTHOUSE STEPS

They've been growing marijuana at the criminal courthouse in Orleans
Parish, Louisiana.

Only, they didn't know it until yesterday.

The pot plant sprouted in the courthouse steps and grew for several weeks.
Nobody noticed-- not the police, the prosecutors or the probation agents.

Then, a former narcotics detective pointed out the plant to a reporter for
The Times-Picayune. In turn, courthouse officials were filled in. One of
them pulled up the plant by its roots.

Just to be sure, he's sending the plant to a crime lab for testing.
