DROUGHT DESTROYING POT CROPS

The drought plaguing Oklahoma is taking its toll on legal crops-- and on
marijuana.

A spokesman for state Bureau of Narcotics says Oklahoma typically ranks
among the top ten states in the nation for marijuana production. But maybe
not this year.

The spokesman says the drought has reduced the number of pot fields that
agents are finding, and the quality of what they do find is poor. In fact,
he suggests the pot peddlers are likely losing money.

The officials says high-quality pot plants have an estimated street value
of 15-hundred dollars apiece.
