STATEMENT BY DR. ROBERT ROSS CHAIRMAN, ROSS UNIVERSITY

Re: To Urge the U.S. Government to Provide Immediate Security to St. Kitts'
School of Veterinary Medicine

NEW YORK, July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is a statement by Dr. Robert
Ross Chairman of Ross University:

Ross University has just been informed by the U.S. State Department that a
known narcotics trafficker living on St. Kitts has threatened to randomly
murder students attending the University's School of Veterinary Medicine if
U.S. officials are successful in obtaining his extradition on a felony drug
indictment. The school has approximately 300 U.S. citizens in attendance, so
we are taking this threat very seriously.

In a meeting with the State Department, White House staff and several other
agencies, we asked that they arrange immediate security protection for the
University until we are able to adequately assess the situation and
determine how to proceed.

The State Department dispatched two security officers to remain on the scene.

The Government of St. Kitts has issued a statement assuring its security
resources to the University. However, we feel it is imperative that the U.S.
government provides our students and faculty with whatever security measures
are necessary to assure their safety in the wake of this threat.

The University is currently in the process of notifying family members of
the situation on St. Kitts.

Ross University is committed to protecting our students, faculty members and
staff on St. Kitts and will be working tirelessly to develop an appropriate
response.
