NOBODY CARES

I've been following Plano's "War on heroin" with some amusement. Heroin
trafficking in Oak Cliff has been rampant and ignored, for the most part,
since the 70's. I've been involved as a parent for many years and has seen
the addicts locked up repeatedly, while the dealers continue business as
usual. Nobody cares.

At one point, I was intent on "Helping the police. " I gathered facts:
names, addresses, dates, phone and pager numbers locally and in Mexico.
Nobody was interested. Nobody returned my calls. Nobody cared. It's very
easy to jail the addict;a little more effort is required to arrest the dealer.
