RED DWARF STAR IN DRUGS ARREST

Red Dwarf star Craig Charles has been arrested by police on suspicion of
being involved in supplying cocaine and ecstasy.

Mr Charles, 38, went to London's Kennington Police Station voluntarily on
Thursday afternoon, his agent Neil Reading said.

He was released on bail pending police enquiries.

The arrest follows allegations concerning Mr Charles published in the News
of the World last May.

Mr Reading said: "He has not been charged. The matter remains in the hands
of his lawyers."

Craig Charles is best known for his starring role in the cult BBC2 comedy
show Red Dwarf.

The Liverpudlian is also a familiar fixture on the comedy stand-up circuit
where he first made his name.

His marriage to the actress Cathy Tyson - who starred in the film Mona Lisa
and TV series Band of Gold - broke up and he now lives with Jackie Fleming
and their daughter.
