FBI-NTF PROBE CUTS METH RING

A year-long federal investigation into a methamphetamine distribution
network centered in Oceano ended with seven arrests Tuesday.

San Luis Obispo County Narcotics Task Force members, aided by the FBI,
seized 11 pounds of methamphetamine, several vehicles and bank accounts.

Additional search warrants and investigations are anticipated as a result
of Thursday's[sic] operation, according to Grover Beach Police Chief Ernie
Klevesahl.

The investigation ended after an undercover agent purchased 11 pounds of
meth Tuesday at the San Luis Obispo Airport, Klevesahl said.

Authorities arrested Juan Villa Baza, 28, of Oceano; Rafael Gomez, 27, of
Oceano; and Larry Alvarez, 39, a transient at the airport.

Baza, allegedly the organization's head, and Gomez are being held on
suspicion of conspiracy to distribute meth and aiding and abetting the
distribution of meth. They will make an initial court appearance in the
U.S. District Court in Los Angeles.

Alvarez is being held on suspicion of conspiracy to sell meth.

Prior to these arrests, officers identified Alphonso Rojos Bello, 35, of
Grover Beach, during a meeting with Gomez. Bello was arrested on suspicion
of conspiracy to sell meth.

After these arrests, agents served warrants at various locations.

Amber Harris, 18, was arrested at her residence on Heritage Lane in rural
Arroyo Grande on suspicion of maintaining a place where narcotics are used
and/or sold.

Susana Ruiz DeLaCruz, 35, or Oceano was arrested at the home of an
aquaintance in Oceano on suspicion of conspiracy to distribute meth and
aiding and abetting the distribution of meth and also federal charges.

Robert Gerald Clarke, 35, of Cayucos was arrested at his residence, also on
the major federal charges.
