METH TASK FORCE RECEIVED FUNDING
Re: Funding more than welcome.
In an article dated July 12, the Salmon Arm Observer stated that the
Crystal Clear on MethTask Force was refused funding from the
provincially funded Community Methamphetamine Response Funding Program
administered by the Union of British Columbia Municipalities.
In fact, the Shuswap Family Resource Centre was fully funded to
deliver the program to the District of Salmon Arm, District of
Sicamous and the Town of Enderby. An initial grant of $20,000, which
was the maximum entitlement for one organization, was approved on
receipt of the original application.
An additional allocation of $10,000 was approved after the closing
date.
This approval was based on the involvement of a third local
government, and could not be considered until we were confident that
all other eligible applicants had received funding.
We thank you in advance for providing this clarification to your
