METHAMPHETAMINE LAB RAIDED

Drug agents find marijuana, cyanide

ROSHARON (AP) -- Drug agents raided a ramshackle house in a remote wooded
area in Brazoria County and found everything from marijuana plants to test
tubes of mercury.

Harry James Robol, 56, the man who lived at the house, was led away in
handcuffs after the agents discovered his methamphetamine lab on Tuesday.

Robol was charged with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, delivery of a
simulated substance and delivery and possession of marijuana, The Facts, a
daily newspaper in Brazoria County, reported Wednesday.

Authorities said they found as many as 57 marijuana plants and about 40
different chemicals, including mercury, ammonium nitrate and a type of
cyanide.

Lt. Harry Stiles of the Brazoria County Sheriff's Department said Robol, who
lists his occupation as a research chemist, is accused of operating the meth
lab for his own consumption and supplying some of the product to
acquaintances who would sell it on the street.

Stiles said Robol denied the substances found at his home were used to make
the drug but admitted to making it on previous occasions.

Alcohol Tobacco Firearms agents also participated in the raid. They had
information that Robol had an interest in making pipe bombs.

Authorities said some potential bomb ingredients were found at his house,
but they did not find any illegal materials that could ignite a bomb.
