LESOTHO NATIONAL WINS ANTI-DRUG AWARD
NAIROBI, Aug 27 (AFP) - Molefi Tsosi of Lesotho has worn the first
joint Africa youth award for spearheading a campaign against drug
abuse by young people in his country, the UN drug control programme
said here Thursday.
Tsosi piloted a prevention of drug abuse in high schools in Mafeteng
district in the southern Africa country and his initiative encouraged
students to form anti-drug clubs in their schools, the UN
International Drug Control Programme (UNDCP) said in a statement. The
joint Africa Youth Award is an initiative by the UNDCP, the World
Health Organisation, the UN Development Programme and the
International Council on Alcohol and Addiction to promote and reward
African youth involved in illicit drug demand reduction efforts.
