CZAR'S BLITZ ON DRUGS IN PLAYGROUND

DRUGS Czar Keith Hellawell launched a multi-million pound assault on drugs
in the playground yesterday.

It follows research showing kids as young as 10 are hooked on hard drugs
like heroin.

Mr Hellawell fears drug abuse is not only affecting youngsters' health -
but also their exams.

He said: "We don't know how badly last week's results were affected by drugs."

He said 3million will be added to the 18million already spent on drug
prevention drives in schools.

The move is part of a 217million war on drugs in Britain. Another
133million will be spent cracking down on drugs in jails. Cabinet Minister
Jack Cunningham said: "Drugs destroy lives and ravage communities."
