ACTIVIST BACK IN COURT
LANGLEY
Langley resident Randy Caine will be back to court this month as part of
his battle to legalize marijuana.
Caine was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana several
years ago, and has been fighting what he calls restrictive laws on the drug
since then.
In April, Caine lost his case in B.C. Provincial Court, where his lawyer,
John Conroy, argued that anti-marijuana laws are an infringement on the
Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Caine's next hearing is in B.C. Supreme Court September 29 and 30, when a
judge will decide whether to allow an appeal.
