RAID YIELDS HUGE MARIJUANA CROP AT SEASIDE HOME
Monterey County authorities raided a Seaside home Wednesday and turned up
383 marijuana plants with a potential street value of $2 million.
The plants, ranging in size from 2 inches to 8 feet, were found in an
indoor and outdoor nursery at the home of Henry Rosales Jayubo Jr., 41, the
Monterey County Sheriff's Department reported.
Authorities also found weapons and a second, smaller nursery in the home
and immediately issued a warrant for Jayubo's arrest.
Had the plants been allowed to grow to maturity and produce an average of
about one pound of pot each, the crop would have had a street value of just
over $1.9 million, sheriff's department officials said.
