SULLYING A GREAT DAY
A great shot by Mark McGwire, a cheap shot in the editorial of the San Jose
Mercury News; Indeed, ``even McGwire's bulked-up, androstenedione-enhanced
biceps'' is a cheap shot in an otherwise decent commentary (Opinion, Sept.
9). Can't you journalists just accept an achievement without cheapening it
with a sordid comment, or was this just a way to increase your own
self-worth? That comment disappointed me.
