TRUCKER, IN JAIL, DIED OF DRUGS IN STOMACH
Bakersfield Kern County coroners found a golf ball-sized Baggie of a
substance believed to be methamphetamine in the stomach of a truck
driver who died while in custody.
A toxicology report shows Michael Owens, 33, of Gray Court, S.C., had
nearly twice the lethal amount of the drug in his system, sheriff's
Cmdr. Phil Crosby said Thursday.
Owens died last month after struggling with officers at the Lerdo
Jail.
