21 KILLED BY POISONED DRINK

AT LEAST 21 Indians, most of them truck drivers, died when they drank
contaminated liquor sold by a vendor in small town in eastern India.

Dozens others fell violently ill and complained of nausea and vomiting
after they consumed the liquor, the United News of India said. At least l00
people are reported to have bought the alcohol from a shop owner in Katihar
in the eastern state of Bihar.

Police banned the sale of home made liquor in the area and were carrying
out raids in the neighbourhood to see if tainted alcohol was being sold.
