Sirs,
Tom Morton says "no law will make a smoker stop" (16 September). Quite
right, and nor have laws stopped people using cannabis, ecstasy or
heroin.
He also admits that he would willingly supply nicotine addicts if
tobacco is banned. As nicotine is far more dangerous than the
currently illegal drugs, this would place him at a level comparable to
heroin traffickers in the law's eye and entitle him to a long stay at
Her Majesty's pleasure.
He should stop giving the Government ideas - they have enough stupid
ones as it is.
