MRP VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE UNDERWAY

ROCKWOOD - Marijuana festival promoter Ina Kurz is conducting a voter
registration drive for the Marijuana Reform Party until Oct. 9 at her
Rockwood General Store.

Kurz, the Fulton County representative of the party, said the goal is to
collect at least 50,000 votes for MRP gubernatorial candidate Thomas
Leighton this November.

Reaching the 50,000-vote threshold accords the MRP major political party
status for the next four years.

The MRP, which she said seeks the support of young voters disenchanted with
the mainstream political parties, is dedicated to ending the marijuana
prohibition.

The party slogan is "Vote the Leaf." The registration deadline is Oct. 9.

Kurz has promoted marijuana festivals in Rockwood the past two years.
