DRUG AND GANG EVICTIONSR

I have managed apartments for the past ten years and feel it is about time
law enforcement aided landlords and owners in the process of evicting
tenants who are involved in drug and/or gang related activities ["Buena
Park targets apartment crimes", Metro, Oct. 23].

My experience with law enforcement is to be told it was "none of my
business" when I inquired about the presence of a police officer at the
door of a tenant suspected in such activities. This should be a statewide
policy.

Had this type of eviction support been available in the past, owners could
have saved thousands of dollars in renovation costs, delinquent rents and
possible law suits.

In addition, law-abiding tenants may have slept better at night. Thank you,
Capt. Gary Hicken, for opening some desperately needed, closed doors!
