2 JAILED IN METHAMPHETAMINE BUSTS
Federal drug agents arrested two Mexican nationals and confiscated three
pounds of methamphetamine Tuesday in southwest Oklahoma City.
Kevin Stanfill, federal Drug Enforcement Agency spokesman, said a two-month
investigation led to the arrest of a man who had two pounds of
methamphetamine in his car when he was stopped about 4 p.m.
The same investigation led to another man's arrest about 9 p.m. with one
pound of methamphetamine.
Stanfill said the three pounds of the illegal drug were worth $100,000 on
the streets.
Stanfill said both men were being questioned late Tuesday. He did not
release their names but said they would be booked into the Oklahoma County
jail on complaints of possession of methamphetamine and conspiracy to
distribute the drug. Stanfill said more arrests are expected.
Methamphetamine is commonly made in the United States, but the Mexican
product is cheaper than the drug made here, Stanfill said.
