BURGLARY INVESTIGATION LEADS TO DRUG LAB; THREE PEOPLE ARRESTED

CLAREMORE -- Three people were being held at the Rogers County Jail on
Thursday in lieu of $111,000 each after a burglary investigation led
authorities to a drug lab.

The Sheriff's Office identified the trio as Mark Leon Rose, 31, Denae
Luzier and Jeremy Scott Jenkins, both 18. Each was being held on
complaints of manufacturing a controlled and dangerous substance,
methamphetamine; possession of paraphernalia; possession of a
controlled and dangerous substance; and possession of a firearm in the
commission of a felony.

Sheriff Jerry Prather said his office received information that a gun
and computer taken in a burglary could be found in a mobile home
leased by Norman Jones, 46, an ex-felon with former drug
convictions.

Prather said two deputies and Inola's police chief contacted Jones
about the items at his residence Wednesday. Jones, said, however, that
he didn't have them and denied officers access to the mobile home, the
sheriff said.

Before leaving, however, officers were able to determine that Jones
was in possession of a stolen vehicle, authorities said.

Armed with additional probable cause, the officers entered the
residence to look for Jones, who, in the meantime, had fled the
premises along with two others, leaving the trio behind, Prather said.

Inside the mobile home, officers found a methamphetamine
lab.

Officers secured the residence and obtained a search warrant. Later
they discovered that chemicals used to make the drug "were in a real
volatile state" or in various stages of the cooking process, Prather
said.

Prather estimated the value of the drugs at about $15,000.

Officers also recovered two .22- caliber semi-automatic weapons, two
shotguns and a partially loaded 60-round assault rifle.
