CLOSE REVOLVING DOOR FOR DEALERS

Enough is enough. How much money wasted? How much time that could be
spent in better ways? How many times do these brave police officers
have to put their lives in jeopardy? I refer to the article in
Thursday's edition about the sweep of suspected drug dealers carried
out by the Sheriff's Department. How long will we allow these people
to infect our streets? Six people with 181 arrests between them, and
that is just the ones mentioned by Sheriff Wells.

This has to stop. All of these people should have long since been in
prison for the rest of their lives. I call on this paper to do an in-
depth investigation on this. I want to know the following: 1. Names,
ages, charges, and final disposition of all previous cases. 2. Were
any of them arrested while on parole or probation? 3. Were they
allowed to plead to lesser charges as part of a plea bargain and why?
4. What judges failed in their duty to the rest of us by allowing
these people to be free to terrorize the rest of the community? 5.
What prosecutor decided they should not be punished for their actions?

These people have shown time after time that they will not abide by
the laws of society, and in so doing, have forfeited any rights of
society. Every day there is a story about someone being robbed at
gunpoint, some home invaded, someone killed. Why do we tolerate this?
Gang members are prone to use violence to settle their differences.
They are no better than Hamas or Hezbollah, and should be treated as
such. They are terrorists. Put them all in prison. Enough is enough.
