TOO MANY VEGETATE IN PRISON NEEDLESSLY
There is little to add to Ronald Fraser's excellent July 26 column except amen!
Relying on prisons to solve social problems is hugely
counterproductive. Harry Whittington - who was famously shot by Dick
Cheney - once put it very succinctly: "Prisons are to crime what
greenhouses are to plants."
