COOPERATIVE RAID NETS MARIJUANA
Authorities from The Colony and Little Elm seized two pounds of marijuana
from a residence in the 5300 block of Norris St. in The Colony.
Daniel Villagomez, 28, was arrested for possession of marijuana under 5
pounds - a state jail felony. Authorities in The Colony were notified by
Little Elm police officials that an informant had reported drug activity at
the home.
"Anytime a neighboring city brings to light information, we work in
cooperation with that department", said Chris Plemons, an investigator with
The Colony Police Department. "We may not work with them on a daily basis,
but we do in situations like these."
Upon entrance to the home on Nov. 6, authorities from both agencies
reported finding Villagomez along with 2 pounds of marijuana, drug
paraphernalia and more than $300 in cash. Villagomez did not resist arrest
and no other arrests were made.
Police believe the Villagomez arrest was an isolated incident and that he
is not involved in a drug ring. Department officials said they have not
experienced an increase in drug-related arrests lately.
